There are a many signs that the end of winter is approaching and that spring is on the way; tulips are one my favorites. There are still a few weeks before they'll come popping up through the soil, but until then I'll take them any way I can get them. On Saturday Matt and I had plans to visit my grandparents who still hadn't seen the photos from our trip, so when I saw tulips on sale at the grocery store after the gym Saturday morning I couldn't resist picking up two bunches.
I used some Martha Stewart ribbon tape to spruce up a mason jar for my grandmother's bouquet and brought them over with a loaf of banana nut bread, my go-to recipe. I figured that my grandmother could serve it with the inevitable put of tea she would have steeping upon our arrival, and they went together perfectly.
I still have my Valentine's day carnations around our apartment, but since they probably only have a few days left in them I treated myself to some pink tulips.
Matt noticed Casey peeking at us through the stems from the love seat across from our couch.
We only got a quick shot before Casey jumped down from his position to stick his snout in the camera lens. It seems he's been conditioned to run over whenever he sees the camera, I can't imagine how he got that way.
I stayed home from work today feeling exhausted, achey and generally run-down. I took a three hour nap, ate lunch, caught up on Kourtney and Kim Take Miami, and now I'm ready for another nap. I'm resisting the fatigue since I want to sleep normally tonight, and opted instead for a pot of tea and my MacBook to catch up on blog life instead.
That reminds me, I'm excited to announce the winner of the Toys4Tails.com toy giveaway is Katherine from one of my favorite blogs, Of Corgis and Cocktails...or really, I guess the winners are her adorable pups, Teemo and Raynor. Congrats to all three of you!

In other exciting news, my birthday countdown has officially begun and it will be here in 8 short days. Not only do I love my birthday, I also love to share it with the special people in my life. As it happens Jane from Taingamala, Mia from The Chronicles of Chaos and Allie from Tales of a Twenty Something have that and March birthdays in common with me, so next week we'll have a fun giveaway of some of the things we'd like for our birthdays. Be sure to check back here on Monday for that!
