It's the little things

Finding and appreciating the small, meaningful details of everyday is one of my favorite habits. I adore the routine of making a pot of tea, of lighting my favorite scented candle, of curling up on the couch under my cozy blue blanket with the feel of Casey's warm little body curled up beside me.

Yesterday morning as I was getting ready for work, feeling excited that only 8 hours stood between me and a weekend of no plans, I snapped a few photos of the things that made me especially happy:

1//These flowers because they've been alive and kicking since Valentine's day when my sweet husband sent them to me.

2//This Pixi Flawless & Poreless primer because it was in this month's glam bag and does a nice job of keeping my makeup looking fresh all day.

3//This little jar because it's the perfect size to corral the small craft embellishments I never have a place for. Also because it's the jar my night cream was in and I love that I can repurpose it. And because the label peeled off cleanly, something that always thrills me.

4//This tea because the scent and taste are out of this world. I shared my love for Harney & Sons tea and tins in my Valentine's day post and I can't wait to display this beautiful blue and white one in my living room with roses or peonies this spring. Until then it's doing a wonderful job of housing this beautifully aromatic tea.

5//This London Calling candle from Bath & Body Works. Apparently it's not available anymore, which is actually really disappointing because I'm obsessed with the light scent. I'll have to ration this one and burn it sparingly.

6//This print that I purchased as a Valentine's day gift "for my husband," but really more for me. We have the Manhattan print by this artist hanging in our bedroom, but I think once we frame London they will both move to our living room; they're too awesome not to share with everyone who comes over.

Those last three items also have a lot to do with what I'm hoping to accomplish this weekend, something I've been putting off for about three months. Any guesses?

What little things are making your weekend?

The little things are the best! If you're going to post about London, I'm looking forward to it.

Wow... your flowers really do still look amazing! What's your secret to keeping them so fresh looking?

I love repurposing! It feels like a small victory. Also, I love the BBW holiday scents, I'm always so sad when I have to start rationing.
