{January 2013} Let's Get Physical

Simply Evani
Although this is one of my favorite linkups, for some reason I never remember it's coming!

I do think it's funny that the few times I began to mentally compose my post for this month I was in the process of making poor food choices {what up chicken nuggets twice in one week?}.

That brings us to the confessions portion of this post...

Confessions
- I sort of hate working out
- I sort of hate preparing meals at night
- I've had fast food cravings like whoa
- I've purchased lunch instead of bringing something from home nearly
every day for the past month

Facts to Live With
- While I go through long periods of time where I don't find fast food the least bit appealing,
there are also periods of time where I crave it
- I will never consistently be the type of person who can prepare a meal every weeknight
- I like to eat meals out

January Goals
- Work on putting together a repertoire of quick, healthy meals I can throw together with minimal time and effort, including a few for the crock pot
- Make an effort to cook 1-2 meals on the weekend that we can stick in the fridge and just reheat during the week
- Find healthy, delicious ideas for lunches to bring to work
- No more fast food. It may be delicious in my mouth, but my face is suffering the consequences with greasy food-induced a breakout
- When we have a meal out, take at least half home for another meal {I'm actually pretty good about this one already}
- Continue to drink tea without sugar, a habit I fell out of for awhile but I'm getting back into it
- Go to the gym. Even if it's once a week, or a couple times for 20 minutes, I just need to do it,
because I know that once I get back into it I'll feel great

{I apologize for the lack of any cute fonts and/or graphics this month, I just don't have the energy to try}

Trying to eat healthy now a days is difficult. Fast food is the devil but it does taste good.

Crock pot meals are such a huge help during the week. I have a few good recipes but I need to find a few more. And I agree I don't really like working out. I always say my favorite part of working out is being done. Ha!

Awesome goals!!! I drink my tea without sugar, it took me a while to get used to it...now I just prefer it!

These are smart, do-able goals. I use the crockpot on weekends. I make soup in big batches and freeze it. I plan my meals for the week but I do get super stressed out if I don't know what's for dinner. Because Scott will suggest "Let's go out" and that makes me feel like a failure. I do classes at the gym Mon., Tues., Wed., so those are my quick dinner nights. Thursday and Friday I take more time if I have the energy.
I have strategies that work for me (maybe for him too..who knows...) but I am not exactly reveling in the idea of working 8-9 hours then cooking dinner. : /

Its hard girl I get it! There are days I wanna say f*ck it and throw everything I do to the side but I know I cant. Did you know that it takes 28 days for something to become a habit. Just some food for thought. You got this!

Cooking every night is hard. I often just eat cheese and a tangerine for dinner or something similar when I don't want to cook. If only that were considered healthy. Ha!

Crock pot cooking is the way to go, throw all the goods in and go. Come back to a lovely smelling house and good food.

You can to do it!

I totally agree I hate working out, I wish I didn't but I do! I also am trying to force myself to go to the gym, even just once a week. It is a start right?!?

I am with you on the whole cooking durning the week (and the weekend for that matter). It's the last thing I want to do when I get home from work. Ordering and eating is just way easier!

Good luck on your goals!!
