{Fashion Post} eShakti

A few months Awhile ago, I was given the opportunity to pick an item from eShakti.com to review and keep. For those of you who aren't familiar, eShakti provides women with affordable, customizable fashion. There's a huge variety of pieces available and they are constantly updating their options. Each style is cut to order, whether standard sized, custom styled, or custom sized. It took me awhile to get my act together and reign in my indecisive tendencies, but I finally made a decision.

I chose a Pleated cotton poplin dress because it was simple yet detailed, and because dresses that are cinched at the waist tend to work best for my body type. I also love anything with pockets! I was eager to see how this fitted cotton dress would fit in the bust area since normally I have trouble finding something to fit me properly in both the chest and the waist/hips at the same time. I’m not Dolly Parton or anything, but apparently my proportions differ from the dress forms most stores are using. It was the perfect opportunity to try out the customizable sizing that eShakti offers. I enlisted the help of my husband to help me get accurate measurements, entered the info into the website, and that was it!

Once I sent off my dress choice and measurements, eShakti did the rest. I was so excited to get my dress in the mail a couple of weeks later! I tried it on immediately and the first thing I noticed was the great quality of the piece. I also love that there’s a side zipper because I can never get myself into/out of dresses without ripping a seam when there isn’t one. Now came the hard part: taking photos of me wearing the dress.

I am not a fashion blogger, and I don’t put many photos of myself up here to begin with, so the idea of having a “photo shoot” made me nervous. The lovely people at eShakti were nice enough to give me this beautiful dress, and I was just taking my sweet time telling the world about it, so I put on my big girl panties {and on top of those, my new dress}, and prepared to face my fears! The experienced model in our family {Casey} was kind enough to show me how it’s done.

{please excuse my wrinkles}

This dress is feminine without being over-the-top {after I wrote that statement I realized that dresses are feminine by nature, but hopefully you understand what I’m trying to say} and I think the details of the pleats and pockets add a little interest. The skirt is fuller than I anticipated, but I love it! Part of me wanted to throw on a little apron , a string of pearls, and some heels to do some mopping, but I resisted. Instead, I put on some dark tights {to keep my whiter-than-white legs concealed} and slipped on my super comf TOMS desert wedges

The size was pretty much perfection—the waist does have elastic in the back, so to fit snugly I would have to take it in an inch or two, but it looks great the way it is so that’s not necessary.

It paired nicely with my classic trench coat, which was convenient for January.

I definitely plan to order from eShakti again, particularly for dresses. I'm officially a fan of customizable clothing!
{I was given this dress by eShakti for review purposes. All opinions are 100% my own.}

Could you and Casey be any cuter?! I adore the trench coat over that dress. You look fantastic! I had no idea customizable clothing was available over the internet. Very interesting!

You look great! Haha I don't do outfit posts for the same reason, it just makes me nervous! I love how Casey also modeled in the shoot, he's looking dapper as well. I love the booties you paired this dress with, makes it perfect for winter.

I don't know what's cuter: the dress, the shoes, or Casey!

I love the dress, and you did an amazing job modeling! I too have issues finding dresses that fit my proportions as my top half doesn't match up with my bottom half according to clothing fit standards I guess...ha! So I will def have to look into this site. Thanks for sharing!! :)

The dress looks great. I usually have a hard time with the bust area on tops and have heard good things on eShakti. I will have to give them a try one of these days. I love the shoes too. They look comfy.

I got one too, and am totally procrastinating on pictures for the blog in it, haha!
