I have no idea where the time has gone, I just realized how behind I am on my BarkBox posts! I decided to post about November and December in one fell swoop rather than having two separate posts.
For anyone not familiar with BarkBox, as you can probably tell from the name, it's a monthly subscription box for your pup.
| {Don't let the yawn fool you, he was super excited when we opened this box} |
I have been 100% satisfied with our BarkBox subscription, but to be honest, November's wasn't my favorite. The treats are great, and Casey loved the Mr. Barksmiths Cool Treats smoothie, and Acadia Antlers rope antler chew, but I don't have much use for the DogTV or Rover.com gift cards. I will be heading over to mrchewy.com to use the $10 gift card for any goodies we might need!
December's box was much better!
As I may have mentioned, recently Casey has been on a limited ingredient diet to see if that improves a gland situation he's been known to have {ew}, so I'll be donating the Bocce's Bakery treats to a local animal shelter-- they sound amazing: made with all natural chicken, pumpkin, cranberries and cinnamon; if they weren't packaged as dog treats I might be tempted to try them myself.
One exception to his diet we did make was for this Puppy Cake red velvet cake mix. From the minute I opened this box Casey was sniffing the package, so I knew he would love the cupcakes! I loved that these were made from all-natural ingredients {beets give them their red color}, and they were super easy to make: I just mixed in an egg and apple sauce {in place of the vegetable oil that the box called for}, stuck them in the oven, and in minutes we had doggie cupcakes! Casey went crazy for them, as did his fellow pup co-worker.
I've actually never given Casey a bath myself, isn't that weird? He's a pretty clean dog and doesn't get stinky very often, so we just take him to the groomer every couple of months when he needs a bath and/or haircut. I think that this summer we might see how he reacts to the bathtub, and this Fresh Dog oatmeal shampoo will definitely be involved because it smells incredible!

| {One of my 2013 resolutions is to learn how to take action shots of Casey playing...and to get better with the camera in general} |
The reindeer toy was an immediate hit. When we have our Christmas tree up with the skirt under it, Casey tends to take all of his toys under there to play with, it's kind of adorable. This toy is by Simply Fido, an organic, Brooklyn-based toy supplier.

Casey looks so happy with all his goodies. :)
My dogs would love this!
I've never heard of BarkBox so I'm so excited about this post! If I end up signing up for a subscription, I will use that link so that cute puppy can get a month free!
That stuffed toy from the December box is the first stuffed toy my dog hasn't destroyed within seconds... It has a little wear and tear but he just carries it around the house and never chews it up
Casey is just adorable! Love that last pic of him looking at the camera, like "I have defeated the reindeer!" :-P
Love that first pic of Casey...so cute!! I can't believe there is a cake mix for pups! I totally would be making cupcakes for my pups. I might have to see if I can find a recipe online to recreate. I love seeing what you get each month. I was thinking of maybe trying it out for my pups, but with 3 dogs, I wasn't sure if one box would be enough, and didn't know if I wanted to be buying multiple boxes...they are already so spoiled. I'll have to take another look and see what I can figure out :)
CASEEEEEYYYY you're so cuteeee *ignores chimmy for a split second*
once my moneeey situation settles, i'm intrigued to try barkbox out. woot.

Oh Casey, you are definitely one of my favorite blogger dogs of all time! And I love the pupcake mix, I will have to go in search of that!
